Membership: People's Voice depends on its members. The basic membership contribution is $15 per year (two people at one address $25), and members are only asked to contribute $9 when they come to our concerts.
Not only do you save money on great shows, but you also get to be on our mailing list and receive a schedule of events each month for an entire year. More importantly, it's a great way to give real support to the Cafe. We also welcome other charitable contributions to help keep the Cafe running.
To become a member, please send $15 (or $25 for two people), along with your name, address, and phone number, to the address below:

Dear friend of Peoples' Voice Café,
Imagine Saturday nights without the Peoples' Voice Café.... Where else would you go to find fresh topical music, homemade baked goods at down-home prices and a community of progressive people?
Without your support, New York City may lose this important and inspiring resource.
For twenty-five years, Peoples' Voice volunteers have done all the hard work needed to bring high-quality, original music, poetry, and storytelling to the café. As a matter of principle, admission is kept affordable and no one is turned away for lack of funds.
Despite all our efforts to keep the costs as low as possible, we now face expenses we can't cover. We've recently been hit with substantial new costs: replacement of our failing sound system, hefty insurance premiums and a higher space rental as well as the normal increases in postage and other items. These costs have come at a time when all venues have experienced a drop in attendance from the recession and as people heal from the events of 9-11.
That's why we are coming to you, our closest supporters, to ask for help. In the long run, we hope that memberships and concerts will sustain the café financially as they have in the past. Without additional contributions now, however, we can't continue our tradition of bringing you political artists you won't find elsewhere--some you've never heard of and some old favorites.
If everyone on our mailing list gives just an extra $10, we will be able to bring you this season's line-up of extraordinary performers. Since not everyone can spare $10, so we are asking those of you who can afford it to give us $50 or $100. But no contribution is too small, and every bit helps.
Just think of the hundreds of great shows the Peoples' Voice Café has presented in the last two decades. To mention just a few special PVC moments recently: Leon Rosselson's "final" US tour; "Tzena, Tzena, Tzena" sung in three languages--English, Hebrew and Arabic; an ad-hoc discussion of September 11 on opening night last year where people found a safe place to express their pain and concerns, and dozens of wonderful concerts week after week.
Please be as generous as you can, and return your contribution to: Peoples' Voice Cafe, c/o Brent Kramer 477 17th St #1 Brooklyn NY 11215
Together, we can sustain the Peoples' Voice Café as a place where we all find the community and culture we all need in these troubled times.
In solidarity,
The Peoples' Voice Cafe #233 Collective

The People's Voice Cafe depends on its volunteers. Whether you are greeting people at the door, working the refreshments table, setting up chairs, helping with mailings, or working the sound system, you are a valuable member of the People's Voice family... and you get to enjoy a concert for free! For more information or if you'd like to volunteer,
call 212/787-3903, or email The Volunteer Coordinator
Specific opportunities include:
We do mailings of our fliers. Email The Volunteer Coordinator to find out the date of the next mailing meeting. Mailing parties are a fun way to meet new people, too!
We are in need of a baker to create homemade goodies to sell on Sat nights. We would pay for the ingredients.
We can use more help with publicity as well. Email the publicity coordinator to get involved.
We always need folks on Saturday nights to sell food, set up the chairs and sound system, sit at the gate, etc. Volunteering gets you in free for the concert that night.
